DOG DREAMS FOUNDATION ESTABLISHED RELATIONSHIPS

Synergy Animal Hospice

We love Tsavo’s Canine Rehab!

And after you have the privilege of being in their surroundings, we guarantee you will too… This is where magic is made.

Maja and the Tsavo’s team are nothing short of extraordinary.  They work magic.  I am the Director of Animal Synergy.  We specifically work with special needs, super seniors and hospice cases who have run out of time at Animal Control.  I consider Tsavo’s to be (and I know I am not the only one) deeply dedicated partners in the critical rehabilitation and healing of so many (okay, all) of Synergy’s dogs.  With little chance of survival, much less adoption in overcrowded shelters, due to serious medical challenges, our “love nuggets” as we affectionately describe the companion animals in our program, now have new lives and homes with loving foster and forever families to boot.  And it is integral to know that it doesn’t stop there…not only are the animals’ lives changed, but the people involved in this rehabilitation are blown away inspired and therefore create more change.  It’s a spiral effect of love and awareness and the possibilities are endless.  Tsavo’s is at the top of the game.  They know this field inside and out, and if anybody deserves the very best facility recognition and awareness, it’s Tsavo’s, hands down.

Thank you doesn’t do them justice.

Tsavo’s, we love you.  Simply put – you are the change, you are the magic, and we could not run Synergy, or help the animals at this top level of care without you.  We promise the animals the very best and you help us keep this promise.  You are the best!  You are kind, generous, compassionate and knowledgeable – combine these four qualities and you get an incredible force and that force – that is Maja (founder of Tsavo’s)

Thrive Animal Rescue

“Went far beyond their call of duty.”

Tsavo Canine Rehab has played an integral role in rehabilitating and bringing joy back into the lives of two of our rescue dogs. Chance, a young puppy experiencing paralysis in his two back legs from abuse, received incredible care and love from Maja. She refused to believe there wasn’t a chance he could regain use of his legs. She worked tirelessly with him to in the pool to see signs of feeling and movement. Chance now lives a wonderful life in his forever home with an owner who was given many tools from Tsavo to help Chance Thrive.

Tsavo has also worked with Cassie, our rescue dog who required very serious surgery on her back hip. The wonderful staff at Tsavo went far beyond their call of duty in the pool with Cassie by providing our organization research into her condition. They could have easily left us to find this on our own, however they ensured that we felt completely supported in Cassie’s rehabilitation journey. We are forever grateful for Tsavo’s work with our rescue animals.

Lionel’s Legacy

“We had almost given up hope …”

When you feel like you have exhausted all options for your beloved canine companion, Tsavo’s & Dog Dreams Foundation (DDF) offers hope and second chances!  Lionel’s Legacy is a senior dog rescue in San Diego specializing in the rescue, rehabilitation and care of senior dogs in our community.  We come across many animals that pet owners can’t or weren’t able to provide care for, many with age related ailments that impact mobility at the end of their lives.

DDF has helped rehabilitate and provide comfort for numerous Lionel’s Legacy senior dogs at heavily discounted prices, often when conventional veterinary medicine is limited.  Most notably is a dog named Lt. Dan.  We rescued Dan from Orange County shelter and our vets gave him a poor prognosis and asked us to heavily consider euthanasia.  Dan’s injuries to his back impacted his ability to control and use his hind end, this included his ability to control his bladder and bowel.  We had almost given up hope until we learned about DDF.  After months of visits, using multiple modalities of treatments, Dan began to walk again.  Nearly 5 years later Lt. Dan is still thriving!  There is no question that Dan would have been yet another shelter statistic and a failure on our part as a rescue if not for the expertise of Maja and her team.  He is alive today because of the specialized services DDF offers and provides.  Dan’s therapy over the year should have cost approx. $5,000 but thanks to DDF he received exceptional care at a fraction of the cost so that as a rescue we could continue to care for Dan and for the other senior dogs in our care.  DDF is revolutionizing the way we treat and care for our animal companions, offering alternative options in care while extending and adding quality of life for our beloved companion animals.

Dachshund Rescue L.A.

“So impressed and grateful”

Dachshund Rescue of Los Angeles has been working with Maja Wichtowski and Tsavo’s Canine Rehab for four years and rely heavily on her expertise and advice for our dozens of dachshunds who are recovering from IVDD back surgery or car accidents, or rehabbing their various orthopedic problems from necks to backs to broken limbs.

We are so impressed and grateful for the quality of care that our motley hard luck beasts receive at Tsavo’s.   Maja has a fine tuned ability to evaluate and treat complex problems.  Our dogs’ recovery rate is shockingly good!   We had no idea so many who seemed to be long term and intractable cases who walked again.  Their willingness to subsidize/help us provide sponsors for their care is critical in being able to save as many doxies as possible…the broken and paralyzed are very vulnerable and not likely to be rescued from the shelter due to cost and fear.

Our DRLA foster moms have a strong relationship with Maja because of her generous rescue oriented mind-set.  Her loyalty and love to our foster dogs shows.  She puts what is best for the dog first.

We wish there were Tsavo’s Rehab Centers all over California to help more endangered dogs!

4 Love of Paws

Our experience with Maja and Tsavo’s Canine Rehab has been nothing but positive. Maja’s professional background as an RVT, combined with her empathy and intuition for animals, is absolutely the best combination for diagnosing and administering successful treatment options. We were impressed from the very beginning by her ability to quickly assess the injury/situation with our post-surgery rescue dog, and get the rehab process started without delay. Her top-notch facility is clean and all-inclusive, and her staff is also very talented and caring. And while it is well worth the drive from Fallbrook to Del Mar, we look forward to being able to take advantage of her new, upcoming facility in Escondido!

Buddy Up Rescue

Tsavo Canine Rehab’s team of unwavering miracle workers has helped Buddy Up Animal Society’s alumni, Danny, make astounding progress in his recovery process. Sweet Danny boy was found dragging his backend down a street in Texas, clinging to life, after being shot multiple times at close gun range. Fortunately, his life was saved by the great efforts of his veterinary crew, however, the projection of his extensive injuries was that he was permanently paralyzed and would never walk again. Danny says “never say never”, though, because thanks to the relentless and dynamic support, love, and work Tsavo Canine Rehab’s gang has put into rehabilitating Danny, he is growing stronger, now controlling and moving his back legs in the pool without the use of assistive aids and completely defying the odds!! Danny now lives a happy life with his new adoptive ‘pawmily’ and will continue to work with his favorite team of therapists and make greater headway! Thank you for all you’ve done and all you do, Tsavo Canine Rehab!
